Buying a power bank for filming on your phone

Know what capacity figures mean
A power bank’s advertised mAh is normally measured at its battery cell voltage, not at your phone’s USB charging voltage. Actual recharge capacity is lower after conversion losses and depends on the phone and cable.
Check charging compatibility
Compare the power bank’s USB-C Power Delivery or other supported charging standards with your phone’s specifications. Higher wattage on a package does not ensure your phone will draw that power.
Choose suitable ports and weight
If you film on location, compare weight, cable routing and whether charging prevents comfortable use of a gimbal or tripod. Multiple output ports may split total available power.
Use and store safely
Choose equipment with clear manufacturer details and certifications applicable to your location. Avoid damaged or swollen batteries, high heat and unverified claims about charging speed. Follow the airline’s current battery rules when travelling.
